  7.     Going off to a new school can be a tearful occasion. For
  8. mothers especially. The Prince and Princess of Wales were on
  9. hand last week to help their elder son PRINCE WILLIAM, 8,
  10. settle in at a Berkshire prep school, 36 miles from London, and
  11. when it came time to say goodbye, Diana was discreetly weepy.
  12. William kept a stiff upper lip as he strode manfully away with
  13. a headmaster. The student prince shares a dormitory with five
  14. other first-year boys, traditionally called "squits." In their
  15. second year William and his classmates will be upgraded to
  16. "squirts," and in their third they'll be known as "jolly good
  17. fellows."
